Due to rapid growth, we are looking for an experienced Loan Manager to help on a busy and diverse portfolio of loans and bonds
Servicing the bond and loan markets, Kroll has developed its strong reputation by providing proactive and bespoke services to its clients. We currently manage over 800 loan and bond transactions.
This role will be part of our Kroll Business Services / Middle Office team in the UK.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
Perform the settlement function, closing primary and secondary loan trades, including review and completion of all funding memos and settlement documentation.
Communication of same to all relevant settlement contacts, externally and internally
- Significant interaction with senior management, Kroll clients, their trading counterparties, administrators, custodians, trustees and other KATS departments related to loan settlements and the on-going maintenance of the client’s positions.
- Development and maintenance of smooth and harmonious KATS client relationships
- Investigation and resolution of closing and transactional breaks/issues in a timely manner.
- Participation in the daily/weekly preparation and review of trade status and risk reports provided to internal teams and senior managers.
- Updating Loan IQ and Excel spreadsheets.
- Manage Workflow: Oversee the workflow of loan closers, ensuring timely and accurate completion of closing documents.
- Document Review: Review final closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Compliance: Ensure all closing activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the closing process.
- Coordination: Coordinate with attorneys, stakeholders, and internal team members to facilitate the closing process.
- Approval: Approve final closing calculations and oversee the disbursement of loan funds.
- Training and Development: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor loan closing staff. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the closing process
- Communication: Serve as the primary contact for closing-related questions and communication between sales, operations, and underwriting.
Essential traits:
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in loan closing or in a related area, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of loan closing processes and regulations, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Financial services industry experience in Loan Administration/Operations working for a bank, loan agent, hedge fund, administrator, or prime broker.
- Understanding of loans including trade closing mechanics and economics, LMA/ LSTA market settlement conventions. · Knowledge of ClearPar and LoanIQ experience is essential.
- Strong PC skills in particular Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivation with tangible examples of demonstrating drive and initiative.
- Extremely detailed and control orientated; keen to understand the detail.
- Solid client relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment in a productive manner.
