Kroll is looking for a Corporate Counsel in Mumbai to provide legal support to our Governance and Risk Advisory (GRA) business unit in the Asia Pacific region. This role will report to the global Chief Counsel for GRA, located in London. This is a Hybrid role and would need the aspirant to be comfortable working in Monday - Friday general shift. The role responsibilities and requirements are listed below:

Responsibilities

  • · Provide commercial legal advice and support to Kroll’s Governance and Risk Advisory (GRA) business unit primarily in the Asia Pacific region, which includes service lines in forensic investigations & intelligence, compliance risk and diligence, financial services compliance and regulation, expert services and restructuring.
  • · Provide general legal support and solutions focused legal advice on a variety of matters to the GRA business.
  • · Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, in particular confidentiality agreements, client engagement agreements, master services agreements, vendor agreements, hold harmless letters and RFP’s.
  • · Review, update, create and tailor precedent agreements and processes (including process for exceptions) as needed and appropriate.
  • · Carry out legal research in relation to new or newly applicable legislation and on more specific points of law in the region, as needed.
  • · Build strong relationships with GRA business.
  • · Work as a team player in the regional and global GRA legal team.
  • · Provide training to the business on applicable legal issues and/or laws/regulations as applicable.

Requirements:

  • · Admitted to practice law in India with a minimum of 7+ years’ post qualification experience.
  • · Professional and commercial approach to problem solving and strong team ethic is essential.
  • · Solid law firm training and in-house experience with a regional or global professional services company.
  • · Ability and desire to work collaboratively and autonomously and build and relationships across the business.
  • · Excellent drafting and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to write with precision and clarity.
  • · Commercial problem-solving approach.
  • · Hardworking, with demonstrated ability to work well under pressure whilst continuing to work in an orderly and organised manner.
  • · Ability to navigate complex issues in developed and emerging markets.
