The Role

We are seeking an editorial writer and insights-driven Data Journalist to join our team. We are looking for a creative individual, interested in interpreting our risk intelligence data, reporting and real-world impact stories to create content for our marketing programming across our Crosport Risk Intelligence and Platform Risk Intelligence portfolios.

The ideal candidate will have a “nose for news,” a passion for gathering and interpreting data insights into stories and a desire to share the work we do for global brands and within the Online Safety community with the world. This role will work closely with our Product Development teams, Data teams, Account teams and Human Analyst teams as an in-house “investigative reporter,” hunting for stories to support our marketing campaigns.

The key skills within this role are creative and analytical. This includes an understanding of journalism best practices, story development, editorial calendar planning and the synthesis of company-wide risk intelligence to create best-in-class written content. It also requires judgment skills given the sensitive nature of the work we do for clients and on behalf of the Trust & Safety community.

This role can be based in either the US or the UK. It requires working collaboratively across departments, time zones and geographies, excellent writing and analytical skills, and a proactive, growth mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage of an editorial calendar of content, including blog articles, case studies and client success stories
  • Write content, and manage freelance writers to who contribute, to deliver against that editorial calendar of blog articles, case studies and clients success stories
  • Collaborate with Product Development teams, Data teams, Account teams and Human Analyst teams to mine for story ideas to populate that editorial calendar
  • Collaborate with members of these internal teams to uncover and provide data insights and observations to support editorial content
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation and Design team members of the marketing team to ensure editorial content is produced against necessary production requirements
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation, Website team and external agency partners to ensure content is enabled for SEO/SEM
  • Manage external freelance writers to help scale editorial content production, including briefing and proofing for submissions for accuracy and brand consistency
  • Proof and edit internal content to ensure brand consistency, style consistency, client and online harm sensitivities and the elimination of any typos
  • Serve as an in-house “investigative reporter,” proactively flagging and promoting real-world impact stories from our internal human analyst teams
  • Measure and report on content performance, specifically which topics are resonating most and how these metrics inform future story ideas and editorial decisions

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree educated (Bachelor's Degree or higher), or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience in relevant editorial or marketing positions
  • B2B or subject matter experience, preferably in a risk management-related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of journalism best practices and style guidelines
  • Experience reviewing and extracting insights from data or service reporting
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, creative, product and/or data teams
  • Experience creating editorial calendars, article briefs and story ideas
  • Experience writing, developing compelling headlines and structured content
  • Experience reviewing content search engine performance and adjusting accordingly
