We are looking for talented individuals to join our Internal Firm Services (IFS) Technology team as Director of Infrastructure Services.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of multiple infrastructure solutions by identifying customer and business problems
- Collaborates and engages with cross-functional teams to champion and drive support for the purpose of ensuring delivery of customer services
- Coordinates and identifies cloud architecture and design of scalable, performant and cost-effective, and management solutions.
- Delivers operational excellence and datacenter best practices within the multi-cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.).
- Develop, manages, and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for departmental activities.
- Researches emerging technology for the purpose of being knowledgeable on trends, improving efficiencies, and reducing costs.
- Utilizes technical skills to coordinate enhancements and deployment efforts.
- Reviews and recommends proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality cloud solution or service.
- Informs stakeholders of the strategy for deployment of new implementations, maintenance, and upgrades of cloud solutions.
- Provides documentation and communication to peers and management for status, coordination, objectives, and performance.
- Provides and manages the delivery of services and support 24 hours a day for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related systems standards and requirements.
- Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, counseling, training, supervising, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff, and ensuring necessary department/program outcomes are achieved.
Essential Traits:
- 10+ years of hands-on management experience in a systems or operational field
- Proven ability to be an active and trusted collaborator and also coach, mentor, and guide more junior team members in this regard, in addition to providing technical guidance
- Expertise in datacenter and multi-cloud technologies and services (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
- Willingness to research and effectively evaluate cloud toolset providers; experience in strategic planning and ability to create coherent roadmaps for product toolsets
- Ability to manage enterprise systems environments, including installing packages and automating systems functions
- Skills and experience with source code control systems such as Git, SVN, etc.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux, and IP networking, including routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
- Ability to think horizontally (across many/all layers of the OSI technology stack) and work collaboratively to solve problems and design and implement robust solutions
- Ability and willingness to openly and transparently communicate ideas and perform (formal and informal) knowledge transfer
- Strong independent and collaborative problem-solving skills: example areas include the ability to research and select appropriate technologies and approaches for inclusion in the environment in a timely fashion, and the ability to rapidly understand a package, deploy it, and test it in a POC-like style
- Ability to install/configure development environments in support of work tasks; for example, editing environments such as Eclipse, database tools, etc.
- Ability/interest to learn, adapt to, and become self-sufficient in new environments, for example new cloud technologies

- Manage and direct 6 functional groups in various specialized areas
- Provide technical insights and guide infrastructure projects across multiple BU(s) in Infrastructure areas
- Strategic planning in areas of Datacenters, Networking, Cloud, Enterprise Storage, and Infrastructure operations and process
- Collaborate with other technical groups to ensure seamless
- Billing and vendor relation responsibilities

- Manage and oversee OnPremise datacenter operations including connectivity, HW availability, and other infrastructural needs
- Manage and oversee 2000 Server OS and 3000 compute resources, 5 PB of shared storage,

- Automation of Build infrastructure via Terraform to ensure speedy and consistent development of infrastructure across solutions and environments
