We are looking for a Contracts Consultant to join our Construction Disputes Expert Services department in India, with an initial placement in Pune.

The role would initially be based on site in Pune, India, seconded to a client for an initial 6-month period with extensions thereto as required. After the initial secondment the individual would either relocate to a different project site or would join the office-based consulting team.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and contractual activities within the project efficiently and effectively;
  • Develop and deliver structures for contract administration and commercial matters.
  • Implement the company's commercial policies and procedures consistently and effectively;
  • Working with the Client’s team, identify and highlight commercial risks and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Contracts/Commercial Managers to manage both Head and Sub Contract administration.
  • Maintain contractual records, and advise what measures other teams should be taking to maintain appropriate records;
  • Assist in managing contractual and commercial disputes;
  • Attend and assist in commercial resolution with clients, contractors, or consultants;
  • Prepare internal management reports;
  • Provide advice and information to the project team on contractual and commercial matters;
  • Review monthly Project financial reports;
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Company

Requirements

  • Degree level education in Civil Engineering
  • Relevant Post Graduation / Masters’ in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying related field would be an advantage
  • NICMAR, RICS or MRICS qualified would be an advantage
  • Ideally 5 years of construction related industry experience
  • Excellent analytical skills, an attention to detail and exceptional report writing skills
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
