This position will manage the monthly revenue process for our Restructuring Business Unit, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition.  This position will have responsibility for working on the process as well as establishing, training and managing it from end to end. 

 

Day-to-day responsibilities: 

  • Establish and maintain all procedures around ensuring proper bookkeeping, effective internal controls and timely revenue recognition.
  • Responsible for training the Restructuring Business Unit’s revenue process as well as being the subject matter expert when internal or external queries are raised.
  • Prepare complex recovery rate schedules for revenue recognition.
  • Partner with Managing Directors and cross-functional Finance teams on monthly close matters including preparation of topside journal entries for monthly revenue adjustments and researching gross margin inquiries.
  • Support FP&A Director of Restructuring on monthly analysis, reporting, and any business inquiries or requests.
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure ongoing contract and internal controls compliance.
  • Assist in the review of client contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.
  • Work towards becoming a subject matter expert on revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate with Managing Directors on quarterly revenue certifications.
  • Assist with providing responses to internal and external audit requests.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine current operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Essential traits: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or public company environment.
  • Working knowledge ASC 606 – Revenue Recognition and Contracts with Customers.
  • Understanding of internal controls.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to roll up your sleeves.
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and reach conclusions for recommendations.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high-quality product.
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills required.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills, decision-making and judgment.
  • Demonstrates accountability for personal work product.
  • A positive outlook, a natural intellectual curiosity, and a drive for continuous improvement.
