We are looking for a Senior Manager to support our Expert Services team.  As a Senior Manager in the Expert Services practice, you will work on engagements related to forensic accounting matters, investigative services, and dispute consulting. Kroll’s Expert Services practice provides forensic accounting, valuation, and other financial and investigative services to lawyers and companies involved in litigation and arbitration, among other forms of disputes and investigations.  Our professionals are trained to provide expert witness testimony in our firm’s areas of expertise.

Day-to-day responsibilities:  

  • Manage staff members to ensure engagement execution within established timeframes
  • Quality assurance review of work performed by team members
  • Manage engagement economics to ensure that engagements are executed to plan and that revenues are maximised in the context of agreed parameters
  • Assist engagement teams in providing guidance to lawyers on key accounting, financial and business issues
  • Development and design of financial models for the evaluation of damages claims and other financial calculations
  • Organise and analyse large data sets to provide meaningful conclusions
  • Draft written reports and prepare presentations for clients
  • Manage all operational internal and external communications, including client proposals and expert reports
  • Perform assigned tasks with minimal oversight
  • Independently gather data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction, client site visits, and independent research
  • Contribute directly to the development of work product, expert reports, proposals, presentations, and publications communicated to current and prospective clients
  • Contribute to business development and marketing activities, including developing a network of legal and client contacts

Essential traits: 

  • You have a minimum 5 years of experience in a disputes/litigation support practice 
  • You understand engagement economics and risk management guidelines
  • You have demonstrated mastery of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
  • You have demonstrated experience of evaluation and interpretation of financial information and providing conclusions to support expert opinions and provide financial analytical services to attorneys
  • You have demonstrated experience providing written deliverables and are able to draft sections of deliverables in a persuasive manner and in an appropriate style
  • You have proven project management and presentation skills over a diverse workload
  • You are effective at building good working relationships internally and externally
  • You are effective in building and maintaining a network of legal and client contacts and to contribute to the sales process
  • You actively seek opportunities to raise the profile of the firm and its experts
  • You have proven experience managing and mentoring a team, including delegation to junior staff, sharing knowledge with staff on projects and providing appropriate feedback
  • You 1have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a mastery of Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
