We are seeking a skilled Java Team Lead to join our team. The Team Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing Java web-based applications, analyzing user requirements to inform application design, and creating architectural models that demonstrate the flow and functionality of applications. Our ideal candidate is proficient with Java and its ecosystems, has a deep understanding of object-oriented programming, and is familiar with various design and architectural patterns. As a Java Full Stack Lead Developer, you will design and develop cutting-edge web applications using the latest technologies and mentor a team of talented developers. You will oversee project delivery, ensure quality standards, and collaborate with the offshore development team. You will also communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Architect and design high-scale, robust, and cutting-edge applications
Guide and provide technical leadership to the software development team
Stay updated with emerging technologies and software architecture in the Java landscape
Design and develop both public web applications and line of business sites using the latest technologies
Lead and mentor a team of developers, overseeing project delivery and quality standards
Participate in coding tasks, code reviews, testing, debugging, and deploying web applications (minimum 50% hands-on coding)
Set the vision and direction for the project
Manage the team's workload and performance
Provide feedback and coaching to team members
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise
Manage interaction with 3rd party outsourced development vendors
Assess the quality and security of code from vendors and internal team members
Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and support
Requirements:
At least 10 years of senior development experience, with 5+ years in a team lead or mentoring role, preferably in a global or offshore setting
Proven work experience as a Java Architect or similar role in software development, including creating application architecture diagrams
Compliance with architecture requirements and ability to adjust based on current best practices
Expert-level knowledge of Java and its ecosystems
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns
Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
Basic understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, with familiarity using Azure DevOps
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, Gradle, and Azure pipelines
MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience leveraging cloud solutions in AWS
Experience with SAML and application security best practices
