Kroll’s North American Investigations, Diligence and Compliance practice is seeking a Manager based in Toronto, to join our specialist team. This role involves leading and managing complex investigative and research-driven projects, including client engagement, project scoping, execution, and delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in open-source intelligence (OSINT), investigative research, and strategic analysis, as well as case and client management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a wide range of investigative and intelligence-gathering projects across sectors and geographies
  • Develop case strategies, define research objectives, and oversee execution from inception to final reporting
  • Conduct in-depth open-source and public records research using a variety of tools and databases
  • Perform investigative interviews and source inquiries to gather insights and corroborate findings
  • Analyze large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns, connections, and risks
  • Draft clear, concise, and well-structured reports that address client concerns and provide actionable insights
  • Contribute to the development, management and enhancement of client relationships
  • Contribute to the development of new opportunities and clients.
  • Interface with and present interim findings to clients.
  • Maintain high standards of project management, including timelines, budgets, and quality control
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development and proposal writing
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and quality assurance on deliverables
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Kroll’s global network to leverage multidisciplinary expertise

Essential Traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, economics, political science, criminology, journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in investigative research, intelligence, due diligence, or related fields
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing teams or projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in OSINT techniques, public records research, and investigative methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear findings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting client-ready reports
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to contribute to business development, involved in client calls, proposal writing and assisting in selling and winning new business and cross-selling opportunities
  • Serve as a leader and provide project guidance to Interns, Associates, and Associate Managers working on client deliverables
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work and serve as a client contact and be capable of leading client calls
  • Proficiency in tools such as LexisNexis, Factiva, Pacer, and other investigative databases.
  • Multilingual capabilities or international experience, considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
