We are seeking a seasoned Trade & Customs Vice President with a minimum of 6 years of experience in international trade compliance and customs advisory services. This strategic role offers the opportunity to manage client engagements, drive complex projects, and shape key decisions around customs regulations, tariff mitigation, and foreign trade zone strategies.

Note: This position can be remote or hybrid. This position will be part time.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Advice

  • Interpret and apply international trade and customs laws across jurisdictions
  • Provide guidance on import/export procedures, classification, valuation, and country-of-origin rules
  • Develop robust compliance programs and conduct risk assessments

Foreign Trade Zones & Tariff Mitigation

  • Advise on FTZ setup, maintenance, and operational compliance
  • Identify and implement tariff reduction strategies and duty deferral opportunities

Project & Team Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams on client engagements and deliverables
  • Manage timelines, resources, and scope across multiple concurrent projects

Financial Leadership

  • Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and revenue performance
  • Contribute to profitability targets through efficient management and strategic planning

Business Development & Thought Leadership

  • Cultivate client relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and publishing of thought pieces

Essential traits:

  • 6+ years of trade compliance experience (in-house, consulting, accounting, law-firm) with broad industry and sector familiarity (JD, CPA, or U.S. customs broker license a plus)
  • Ability to manage project timelines and budget and communicate project needs to internal and external stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and global trade practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing client expectations, building teams and delivering results
  • Experience with ERP systems, global trade management software, or FTZ platforms is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities

The current salary range for this position is $90,000 to $200,000
