We are currently seeking a Director for our Sales and Use practice. Our Sales and Use Tax practice offers a total sale and use tax strategy by generating high value tax-saving ideas and helping clients meet specific regional and jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance needs.
This position will be Hybrid in our Morristown office.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
As a member of the Tax Services business unit, you will manage multiple and complex sales and use tax engagements. You will use creativity to assist clients engaged in multiple industries to develop effective planning strategies to proactively manage their sales and use tax liabilities.
Working with clients on implementing sales and use tax processes and system improvements
Working with Managing Directors to develop our national Sales and Use Tax practice
Identify and market opportunities for tax planning services
Assisting with the development, management, and delivery of Sales and Use Tax services
Providing assistance and oversight on client engagements
Researching new and current tax legislation
Delivering projects in a timely manner with final work products that meet or exceed the client's expectations
Developing and maintaining client relationships to ensure an ongoing pipeline of project work
Supervise, mentor, and train client service team members
Essential traits:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
Minimum 7 years of relevant sales and use tax consulting experience
Substantial knowledge of sales and use tax statutes of various state and local jurisdictions
Excellent project management and presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skills
Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel ERP, and various Sales Tax compliance systems
Previous experience leading a team of professionals
A Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to motivate others to excel in a professional services environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
Experience working with diverse teams
