We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in SQL and Python to support backend data operations and drive automation initiatives. This role involves working closely with data systems, optimizing database performance, and building scalable automation solutions to improve efficiency across workflows.

The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Handle and optimize database requests, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Work as a backend data engineer, supporting data pipelines and application data needs.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts/tools using Python to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient data solutions.
• Perform query tuning and performance optimization.
• Maintain proper documentation for database structures and automation workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in database development and automation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (query writing, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• Strong hands-on experience in Python, especially for automation and scripting.
• Proven experience in building automation solutions for data or backend processes.
• Good understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling.
• Experience working in a backend/data-focused role.
• Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse).
• Familiarity with data pipelines / ETL processes.
• Exposure to cloud-based data architectures.
• Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
