We are looking for a Director, M&A to lead and execute complex M&A, capital raising and corporate finance advisory engagements for mid-market and upper-mid-market clients across Latin America. This role combines transaction execution, client management, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, development of commercial opportunities and contribution to the growth of the Investment Banking practice in the region.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  1. Client impact & strategic advisory

  • Lead end-to-end execution of M&A, capital raising and corporate finance advisory mandates, ensuring measurable client impact and strategic alignment.

  • Serve as trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, board members and shareholders across Latin America.

  • Translate complex financial, operational and strategic insights into clear recommendations and actionable alternatives.

  • Anticipate client needs, proactively identify opportunities, and provide differentiated insights based on market intelligence and sector expertise.

  • Ensure all deliverables reflect Kroll’s global standards of analytical rigor, clarity, and integrity.

  1. Execution excellence & technical mastery

  • Lead complex workstreams across valuation, modeling, financial analysis, due diligence and deal structuring.

  • Oversee preparation of investment materials (CIMs, teasers, pitchbooks, board materials, management presentations).

  • Maintain mastery of valuation methodologies: DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, SOTP, credit analysis, capital structure optimization.

  • Ensure robust documentation of key assumptions, risk assessments, investor positioning and strategic rationale.

  • Uphold compliance, risk management and confidentiality consistent with Kroll’s global policies.

Technical expectations

  • Advanced financial modeling skills.

  • Strong understanding of capital markets, financing instruments and cross-border structures.

  • Ability to review and elevate junior team work to meet global IB standards.

  1. Leadership, people development & culture building

  • Lead, mentor and coach VPs, Associates and Analysts, promoting technical excellence, accountability and structured thinking.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance team culture aligned with Kroll’s values.

  • Provide ongoing feedback, contribute to performance reviews and support professional development plans.

  • Create a learning environment by sharing deal insights, industry knowledge and best practices.

  • Serve as a strong cultural ambassador for the Investment Banking team in Colombia.

  1. Business development & market leadership

  • Drive origination efforts by identifying opportunities across M&A, capital raising and corporate finance advisory.

  • Develop high-quality proposals and pitches, articulate clear transaction strategies and competitive differentiation.

  • Strengthen relationships with investors, lenders, strategic buyers, family offices and private equity funds across LatAm and global markets.

  • Represent Kroll in client meetings, industry events, webinars and conferences, reinforcing the firm’s market presence.

  • Collaborate with leadership and global sector teams to develop thought leadership and market insights.

  1. Enterprise excellence & cross-collaboration

  • Actively collaborate across Kroll service lines (Valuation Services, Forensics, Restructuring, Risk Advisory) to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Share knowledge, industry trends and client opportunities across global IB and regional teams.

  • Promote consistency in methodologies, communication standards and project management.

  • Support global initiatives, training programs and operational improvements that enhance the Investment Banking platform.

  • Contribute to the continuous strengthening of Kroll’s brand, reputation and long-term strategic objectives.

Essential Traits:

  • 10–15 years in Investment Banking, M&A Advisory, Private Equity and Corporate Finance, including Valuation.

  • Proven track record leading sell-side, buy-side, capital raising and complex corporate finance engagements.

  • Experience with cross-border transactions and LatAm mid-market clients.

  • Senior-level exposure to negotiations, board interactions, investor discussions and multidisciplinary workstreams.

Academic & certifications:

  • MBA from a recognized business school strongly preferred.
  • Master’s in Finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related fields.
  • Professional certifications (CFA, CAIA, FMVA) desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (mandatory). Ability to write, present and negotiate at executive level in both languages.
